Jake Doll is a creative and resourceful executive who is skilled in operations management, global marketing & purchasing, and product engineering, and he has a manufacturing background that includes machining, metals, plastics and wood processes. He is accomplished at developing flexible organizations for today’s changing economic climates, creating production efficiencies via continuous improvement techniques, and he specializes in functioning as a turnaround executive.
Mr. Doll currently works as the Principal of Sandol & Associates and is an Associate of the Institute for Independent Business (IIB).

Operations Management
General Manager of multi-plant QS/ISO9000 operations with full P&L responsibility. Improved financial reporting and sustained division during post 9/11 economic downturn. After 9/11 rebound, produced more than budgeted sales and profit with over 50% reduction in employee workforce. Increased added-value per employee 57%. Lean manufacturing principles and organization motivation were instrumental in this success.

Engineering/Technical Management

As Technical Center Manager, planned and directed product development and engineering operations, including the R&D Mold Shop at Pease Industries. Chaired Product Development Committee and supervised 25 people with over 30 active projects at any one time. Reported to the President/Owner.

Key department manager implementing cost reductions in excess of $2MM at Pease and $500M+ at Clopay.

As Product Engineering Manager, reorganized department developing a unified interface between Marketing and Engineering at Clopay. Managed the design & development of garage doors and openers, and assisted Consumer Products Division in development of window coverings and folding doors. Managed all product testing, both within the company and by outside agencies including UL and FCC.

Detailed experience in various plastics, metals, and wood processing, including design and manufacturing.

Managed the development, testing, and installation of powder coating system at Chase Industries.

Developed new plastic patio door sill system and awarded product patent at Pease Industries. Managed conversion of solvent-based adhesive and paint systems to water-based systems.

As Product Development Manager, rectified problem-ridden product line and assisted Marketing to increase customer base 25% in second year at Pease Industries. Redefined and wrote distributor product manuals and developed product specification system. Developed testing lab procedures utilizing ASTM standards.

As Design Engineer, designed & engineered health care products, and chaired the Value Analysis Committee at Hill-Rom Company.

Marketing & Business Development
Created and formalized International Sales/Export operations establishing distributors in Mexico, Canada, the Far East, Europe, South Africa and South America at Chase Industries. Increased Export Sales from $200M to $3.2MM per year. Established long-term relationships with customers and have an understanding of Chinese, Korean, European and Latin American cultures. Developed excellent Chinese relationships and negotiated numerous cost savings for the company.

Assisted Chase Industries President in finalizing licensing agreements with French and U.K. companies.

Following a UK company product licensing agreement, led development of first high-speed door product for Chase Industries adding over $1MM of sales per year. Managed project from inception through launch of the manufacturing process, as well as providing training and technical support to sales.

Directed the development of a series of garage door openers built in Taiwan, requiring numerous trips to Taiwan to work with the Chinese company. Product was awarded a retail product award in the United States.
